It’s that time of year again! Where the days get shorter, and our homework pile gets higher. This time is also known as: Back To School.
Heading back to school after a summer of relaxing, traveling, and reading is always hard, but I have some tips to make this easier, and help you survive school: bookworm style.
#1: ALWAYS bring a book with you.
I can’t stress enough how life saving having a book with you at can be.
Firstly, you can get so much more reading done, because if you have a book in your bag it takes only a second to whip it out and read in between classes or when you are done your work. Not to mention it works perfectly in those times when you don’t want to talk to anyone because, like headphones, its a sort of universal sign that you don’t want to be bothered, (except to those people who try to talk to you no matter how busy you are 😂).
#2: Have a device on hand.
Nowadays, everyone has a phone on hand, but one of the best uses of this during school is updating Goodreads, or escaping to your blog and/or Twitter/Instagram.
There is nothing worse than finishing a book and not being able to update Goodreads, so keep that technology near you!
#3: A classic pen and paper.
I don’t know about you but when I am making notes about books to further use to structure my reviews, I like to write stuff down the classic way, in a notebook with a pen or pencil. So these are two things I could suggest you pack in your backpack on the first day of school.
#4: A bookish t-shirt.
Why not look like a bookworm as you walk down the halls on the first day of school? Let everyone know what an avid reader you are by flaunting it on your shirt! (P.S.: the punnier the better!!!!)
A personal favourite of mine is my shirt that reads: “Walk a mile in my shoes and you’ll end up in a bookstore.”
And oh yeah… I almost forgot. Don’t forget to actually pay attention! You are at school to learn of course, but these four other tips are here to make going back to school for you fellow readers just a bit easier!
How did you guys like this post?! It was a bit different from what I’ve been posting, but fun nonetheless!
Let me know when you are going back to school (if you are a student) in the comments, or if you are already back! I have a little under a week and a half. 😭
