Hey everyone, I’ve been seeing this tag everywhere recently and being an active Sims Freeplay player and former Sims 3 player I was just hoping someone would tag me, and thankfully, Jessica @ The Awkward Book Blogger, tagged me! So thank you to her!

I haven’t done a tag in a year I’m pretty sure so I apologize if I’m a bit rusty but let’s get into the questions!

1. The Original Sims: The best author debut.

For this one I am definitely going with Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens by Becky Albertalli. It is my favourite YA contemporary ever and it’s hard to believe it was Becky’s debut since it was so good! If you haven’t read this already I highly suggest picking it up. It’s quick and fun but also discusses important topics, and the romance is adorable!

2. The Grim Reaper: The saddest character death.

I don’t want to answer this one specifically because I wouldn’t want to spoil anyone, but basically all of the deaths in Harry Potter broke my heart.

3. Sims Getting Stuck: A character that just got in the way.

For this one I’m going to go with Sophia from the Passenger duology. She was bothersome and sarcastic in a rude way, not a funny way. I didn’t enjoy her very much and she always seemed to cause an issue, like Etta time travelling in the first place.

4. Simlish: A book with amazing writing.

Of course for this one I have to go with my favourite book ever, The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak. The second I opened the first page in this book I fell in love. It’s told from the perspective of death (for those of you who don’t know) and the writing is just raw and truthful and absolutely beautiful.

5. Expansion Packs: A series where the books kept getting better.

I absolutely fell in love with A Court Of Thorns And Roses when I read it and then A Court Of Mist And Fury came out a monthish after that and I was blown away. Having not read any Sarah J. Maas before that I was so thrilled with the series and I’m so excited for A Court Of Wings And Ruin to come out, I hope it continues the trend of the books getting better each time.

6. Sims Romance: The worst case of insta love.

This is a bit of an unpopular opinion but I found Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon extremely insta-lovey. 😦

7. Cheats: A book that was entirely unrealistic.

I feel like I cannot even answer this one because besides contemporaries, almost all the books I read are unrealistic because they are fantasy!

8. Needs Fulfillment: A character who made all the wrong decisions.

I’m going with Eadlyn from The Heir/Crown. She was annoying and made unintelligent decisions throughout her two books.

9. Error Code 12: A series that started off great but went downhill from there.

One word: Divergent.

10. The Sims Vortex: A book/series that completely engrossed you.

And last but not least, I am going to pick my current book obsession, V.E. Schwab’s, A Darker Shade Of Magic series. Β I obtained the first two books in this series in the summer and never ended up reading them then, but now months later I fell through ADSOM in one night and the sequel in only a few days. The captivating worlds and characters had my eyes locked on the pages of these books at all times and I thoroughly enjoyed them both. I’ve pre-ordered the third books and I’m dying waiting for it, I cannot image how everyone who had to wait a whole year for it feels!

That’s all the questions! I hope you all enjoyed this post, I tried to talk about my favourites as well as some books I don’t normally mention on here!

And for the last step, I tag:

May @ Forever & Everly

Anna @ My Bookish Dream

Marta @ The Book MermaidΒ

Reads & Reels

And everyone else who plays sim, I highly encourage you do this tag!

And even if you guys don’t play Sims, it’s still a fun tag! Also if you’ve done the tag already, oops!

And lastly, let me know in the comments, do you play sims? And have you read any of the books I mentioned in this post?

  1. EEE! Thank you for tagging meeeeeeeee!!! *rushes off to find time in schedule to post it* XD But seriously, thank you, dearie! I totally agree with number 8; I really didn’t like The Heir and The Crown. It was okay though. AND YESSSS ALL THOSE CHARACTER DEATHS KILLED ME. I’VE ONLY CRIED OVER THREE BOOKS, AND ONE OF THEM WAS ORDER OF THE PHOENIX BECAUSE POOR ****** ***** DIED. *cries* And aaaggghh, I need to read Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda and A Darker Shade of Magic SOOOOO BAAAAD LIKE AGH.

  2. Loved all your answers! The Book Thief is such a hauntingly beautiful story. Markus Zusak definitely knows how to pull the heartstrings. The ending was so bittersweet. It made me happy yet really sad at the same time.

  3. Great answers for this tag Emma, I completely agree with pretty much all your answers for this one. I love The Book Thief, it’s one of my all-time favourites and a book I’m hoping to re-read again soon. The writing is beyond amazing and there are so many quotes from that book I loved.
Also yeah I was really disappointed with the ending to Allegiant, which is a shame because I really enjoyed Divergent. The Shades of Magic series is an all-time favourite of mine so I can’t wait to get my hands on the last book. I’m sure it will be just as amazing as the first two! πŸ˜€
Again great answers for this tag. πŸ™‚

    1. Thanks so much for this comment !!! Yeah regarding divergent, I fell in love with the first book when I read it way back then but honestly the next two just went downhill which is a shame since the first one was so promising 😦

And I bet A Conjuring Of Light will be just as good… Well it better be because I preordered it !!!!

      1. That’s all right Emma! Yeah it is a shame. I don’t remember much about the second book, which I guess is a red flag in and of itself, but the third was really bad I remember that much.
I’ve pre-ordered it as well, both the UK and US versions. I keep checking every day to see if there’s any sign it will be dispatched sooner! πŸ˜€

  4. I really want to read Simon Vs The Homo Sapiens. I already own it and I have no idea why I haven’t started it yet. (Probably because I wasn’t in the mood for contemporary.) I have heard nothing but amazing things about it, so it makes me even more exited to read it. πŸ™‚
The writing in The Book Thief is simply beautiful. It’s also one of my all time favourite books. I just love the way Markus Zusak writes and I hope he publishes another book soon.
I love playing The Sims, it’s sooo addictive and fun. Thank you for tagging me! πŸ˜€

    1. No problem !!! I’m glad you actually like sims πŸ˜€ You should definitely read Simon Vs, but I agree with not reading it until you’re in a contemporary mood. Once you do read it, let me know, I’d love to talk about it !!!

  5. The Book Thief is amazing and I’m rather sure we’ll next get a book quite like it. All the HP deaths were so heartbreaking! Yes to the Shades of Magic series. I’m obsessed with those books. Schwab completely blew me away with these books. Can’t wait for A Conjuring of Light. Great answers!
